Graeme Nicol is a freelance photographer and videographer based in Beijing, where he has lived for the past four years. A graduate of the MA International Photojournalism & Documentary Photography course, his first documentary photo-book Trade Winds, about the African Community in Guangzhou, exhibited at the 2009 Pingyao & Dali photo festivals in China, and was published in South China Morning Post, Southern Daily, Gateway Magazine, and Le Figaro. He has been commissioned for both photo and video work by Beijing-based creative studios for clients such as Volkswagen, Phillips, Roland Garros and CCTV-5. In 2013, he worked as Director of Photography for two short films based in Beijing, currently still in post-production. The New Masters is his first feature-length documentary.
